Why University Dance Project?

Most dance studios call themselves dance schools. We take dancers to the next level – urging them to reach their full potential, without “a dance competition” hanging in the wings. Each dancer can concentrate on their individual needs and goals, not the needs or goals of winning a trophy or award for the studio!

We focus on technique, proper body alignment, and the encouragement to attain an educated and advanced level of dance. Therefore, we feel that we are a level above a “dance school” – we are a “Dance University”!

Performance Opportunities

University Dance Project will have (initially) one dance recital scheduled in June where all registered dancers will have the opportunity to perform to a large audience. But that’s not where the performance opportunities stop! We will be holding auditions for our 3 performance companies. These companies are not dance competition companies. They are:

• Junior Company (ages 8 – 12)
• Senior Company (ages 13 – 18)
• College Company (ages 18+)

These companies will carry a $30 registration fee to cover t-shirts for performance. Company rehearsals will be held on Sundays with various choreographers. UDP has already been approached with many performance opportunities.

UDP is an affiliate of CYT Tucson and is a registered 501c3 nonprofit educational arts organization.
